Hi there,

I'm wondering if it is at all possible to upgrade from my AMD A8-6410 to a higher APU? Perhaps an A10?

If so - would HP be able to do this for me and how much would it cost?

If not - I would do it myself - but how much would it cost?

Thanks!

Hi

Go through Page 17, 18 in your Service Manual

First: AMD A8-6410 is the top processor listed compatible for your model

Second: AMD processor comes soldered/integrated with the motherboard, you can't upgrade it

So, sorry its a NO.

Ok, thanks for your help.

In that case - is there a way to increase the GPU, such as adding a discrete GPU?

Currently it's only showing 1GB VRAM - which is too low for my current needs.

Hi

Your board has processor with integrated (UMA) graphic system - Radeon R5 Graphics . No graphic chip can be added. You cannot change VRAM in your system, it is automatically attributed by the processor according to the requirements.
