Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad Editio
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
I have an hp dv6t-7000 quad edition, configured with a HD4000 iGPU and GT650M dGPU. I'm thinking about upgrading to a 1080p panel instead of the 1366 by 768 panel I currently have. However, I know there might be some compatability issues regarding the display cable as 1080p is a higher resolution. This is the exact display panel connector I have:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121431164366?ru=http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40%7CR40%7CR40%7CR40%7...
(My previous one failed on me so I replaced it with that exact one; it was one hell of a process haha.)

I was looking for replacement screens and found ome from this site: http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/HP-Compaq/PAVILION~DV6T-7000~QUAD~EDITION/

First of all, is this site reputable/good/trustworthy? Also, will the 1080p panels be compatible with my display cable connector and laptop? If not for either of these questions, what other websites should I try and search for and/or is there a connector that will certainly work for my laptop? I know that my model came with a FHD option, so the motherboard should support it, but it cost 150$ to upgrade which I did not have at the time. I am concerned, however, whether the gpu will have any error with the higher display, as I've heard can happen. However, a 1080p display was one of the options on HP's website when I purchased this model.

Also, is there any major difference in screen quality between the glossy and matte versions? (Strictly quality, not the actual glare vs. non-glare.)

Thanks!

Look on page 28 of the same Manual. The FHD and HD panels use a different cable so we know your cable for the 1366 x 768 will not work on a FHD 1920 x 1080 screen panel. You can try to order the whole assembly from HP.  I ran one of the FHD assembly part numbers on HP Partsurfer and they are not in stock. The much more economical way to do this is to order just the FHD panel on eBay and separately order the correct cable.

The correct cable part number is 682057-001 and HP does have it in stock at $52:

FHD Cable for Intel CPUs.

I could not find the FHD cable anywhere else.

You can then save some money on the panel by buying it on eBay for about $75:

$125 bucks or so to upgrade to a 1920 x 1080 screen is probably less than you thought it would be. If HP had the full assembly it would be over $200. If you are outside the U.S. post back and we can try some other sources.

I personally like matte displays. Glossies and mattes are the same panels. Glossies are a little cheaper because they actually just leave off the last step of applying the matte coating. Panel quality varies a bit so you can get crummy glossy screens and crummy matte screens. On ebay I only buy from sellers with high feedback and sales numbers and generally get good quality panels. I have probably changed out a hundred laptop display panels in recent years and I like to think I know how to buy them as cheap as possible.

Thanks for your answer, I just had one additional question. Do you know if the screen you linked is IPS or non-IPS? I thought all the 682090-001 were IPS panels but some of the links I've searched for point for an IPS variant as well as a non-IPS panel.
