Hello! I have a laptop HP Envy dv6-7352sr with one problem - usb 3.0 ports doesn't work properly. They are working, but only on 2.0 speed. I was trying to install drivers from hp official website but it was not succesfull, device manager told me that the latest version of drivers already installed. Even i change operating system, but it also not cure that problem. Please advice!

Windows 7 needs a driver for USB 3.0; Windows 8 generally does not. In fact if you upgrade from 7 to 8 it can cause USB 3.0 issues if the old Windows 7 drivers hang around. What OS are you running? If it is Windows 8 the best thing to do is go into device manager and uninstall the usb superspeed devices and reboot allowing the Windows 8 native drivers to load again.

Does the Device Mgr show a USB 3 superspeed controller? What devices are you attaching and what do you call USB 2 speed?

Yes device manager recognize extended usb 3.0 controller. To test speed of usb i try to connect external hard drive which is capable with usb3.0 but read/write speed was less than 30 mb/s. Also i used "everest" and there was written that this hard drive work on high speed which is equal to usb2.0 .

You got me stumped. Usually the uninstall/reboot thing works fine. Can you post the DEVICE ID?

This is obviously (OK likely) a driver issue. We need to see if maybe there is another driver available for your hardware.

Is it possible that exactly this external hard drive not capable with exactly this usb 3.0 controller?)))

Intel USB 3.0. I will look for an alternate driver you can try. Any USB 3.0 device should work on any USB 3.0 ports.
