Please advise where I can get the validity fingerprint driver for Windows 10 for my PC. It is not on the driver page for this laptop, yet should be available I think.

Hi:
HP does not support your notebook for W10.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W7 fingerprint sensor driver from your PC's support page.
This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

If that works, and you want to use the fingerprint sensor to log in, see if installing the W10 Client Security Manager software works to enroll your fingerprint.
This software supercedes the HP ProtectTools software.
HP Client Security Manager provides enhanced Windows login and website single-sign-on capabilities. Security Manager is also the host for HP Client Security plugins, and therefore should be installed before other Client Security modules. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system.

Thanks, i've tried that driver and it does not work for W10. Real shame that HP don't continue support. I purchased the laptop with Win 7, and Win 10 is not that much higher and I would have expected HP to still offer driver support under W10. They dropped support at Win 8, which tells me never to buy another HP laptop, as they should at least have gone to Win 8. Very poor support in my opinion. Much appreciate you taking time to answer my question so fully however. Thanks.
