But I can't sold-out this plz help me I used HP 8470p with Windows 10 32bit

ok so no power to laptop led comes on for split second while charger is plugged in, ive tried cord on other laptops and works fine so why is it not working on this hp pavillon, mind you i am only able to use half the charging cord on my other hp because the end that plugs into the lap top is of different size.  Any ideas?
