Thanks for the link Adrynalyne! Could you please let us know what is your HP model and how this new driver sounds? Does is sound ok, or does it sound really good? Any of the previous artifacts with the volume swing? Thanks in advance!!

I have an HP Envy-15 3033CL.

I haven't tested it yet as I need silence with may laptop for for the last few days.

Cool...please let us know when you attempt the test. I have a HP ENVY 17t-3200 CTO...I am thinking that with the mod that I have tried which disables the SRS effects on Beats Audio, I am good, but I'd rather have the option to use the settings in full effect for a great sound, and that's what HP should be supplying with the new driver. I may try it today or tomorrow, hope it works out for others as well as for myself. I will keep you posted! If anyone tries the new driver please let us know your model and your experience! Thanks again!

I've tested them for a few songs now, ranging from metal to dubstep.  I also cranked the bass and am using high end earbuds.  I have yet to have a single volume swing.  By now the previous drivers would be all over the place.

Note, I only tested this in windows 8.

I'd mark this as a solution, but out of respect in knowing how many people have this issue, I will not until more results are posted.

Edit:  Listening some more...I just don't know.  I had one Pandora song blow up on me, but I am wondering if it was just a poor stream.  We need more people to test it.

Further testing:

Using higher quality audio, I have had zero swings with the new drivers, even maxing the bass for testing purposes.

I used AWOLNation and Apocalyptica to test, listening on Etymotic hf2 earbuds.

I installed the new driver a few hours ago and all seems well.  I'll post back here if I notice any volume swings, but this seems to be the driver that fixes the problem.  I'm on a Pavilion dv7.

The new driver seems to work okay for movies and some music, but I played a video game last night with music and dialog and the problem became apparent again.  Big volume swings.  It isn't as frequent as it was with the previous beta driver I installed, but it's definitely still there.

I installed the driver and my OS crashed. Had to use system restore to get it back up.

Windows 7 64bit, Envy 3270nr

EDIT: have now installed sp58811.exe let's see how that goes

Tested new drivers on Prodigy - Breathe, swings still there. Comparing levels of sound coming from computer, then from my cell, Logitech UE700 earbuds.

So, to summarize, drivers for Envy 3270nr, Windows 8, do not fix the volume swinging bug. Please continue signing the petition.
