if you want roughly similar weight to HP but way better components get an ASUS GL552VW 15.6 inch
(i dont work for ASUS), the internal components are way better, but the layout is awful, especially the power button location

That model also has issues with WHEA-Logger...
Agree with the lack of support / response from HP.

Found the same problem on two near identical demo models in the store.

It's more than likely a 5th generation board with a 6th generation processor... that's always the drawback of buying early.
Ever notice how every desktop motherboard advertises "this Ready and that Ready" for future upgrades... but by the time the upgrades come out there are entierly new motherboards.
