would love an MSI laptop, but just way far too much in weight, dont think lenovo do gaming laptops with a CD drive, that i have seen.

Seems the MSI are all advertised as gaming laptops or geared towards it. I am looking at features though. The M.2 drive with free HD bay that is accessible is really what I was after most of all, my machine doesn't travel much it's replacing a mid-tower machine and monitor... It's for work.

if you want roughly similar weight to HP but way better components get an ASUS GL552VW 15.6 inch

(i dont work for ASUS), the internal components are way better, but the layout is awful, especially the power button location

Please stay on topic.
The main problem is the missing support from Hp, Asus and Intel!

Offtopic...

About the model you refered:

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?83021-WHEA-logger-ID-17-GL552VW

That model also has issues with WHEA-Logger...

Agree with the lack of support / response from HP.

Found the same problem on two near identical demo models in the store.

So then the problem, could be releated to the CPU or systemboard if the board is intel

It's more than likely a 5th generation board with a 6th generation processor... that's always the drawback of buying early.

Ever notice how every desktop motherboard advertises "this Ready and that Ready" for future upgrades... but by the time the upgrades come out there are entierly new motherboards.
