Webcam really dark

Hi, I just got my laptop and the webcam picture is really dark, even if I am in a well-lit room -.-''

Is there some setting I need to change?

Hello,

I would suggest opening up the webcam.  It is probably listed as cyberlink webcam.  Once it is open, you can click on the tools icon at the top.  Try adjusting the brightness and contrast settings to see if you get a better result.

Please go through the following document and check if you can increase the brightness settings and see if this helps improve the image qulaity of the webcam.

I have the same problem with the dv7t quad.  The camera is the HP TrueVisionHD. The first time I ever used the webcam it worked perfectly.  I altered the appearance settings to find out I didn't like what I did because i couldn't see a thing, and then hit the "defualt" setting button and everything went basically black. Changing any of the settings wont do a single thing except make the screen a brighter or darker gray/black.  The only thing my camera will pick up are really bright lights ( like an open window or a lightbulb ) and they will have a greenish hue to them.
