Hey there. I got my HP 620 about a week ago.
I keep since about monday i keep getting this annoying pop up message each time i turn on my pc. It says
-Invalid or missing rescource files in the installation directory. Please reinstall extender player.-
Well I know nothing what so ever obout software and hardware, or basically anything to do with how a laptop or computer works. I know the most basic stuff and thats it, so if any one could help I would really appreciate it.

Look in Start ,All programs for Recovery Manager. If you find it click to open it.You should have an option to reinstall Software. Choose it and see if the Player is in the list available to reinstall.

Extender Player is usually installed along with some games. Not sure if any of the preinstalled games that are on Hp laptops use it.
To stop it from trying to start, and getting the error, go to Start, Run and type in msconfig and hit ok. In the window that opens go to Startup tab. If you see Extender player remove the check to prevent it trying to start.

At first I found it in Misconfig and was able to stop it there. MS suggested that I find the offending program and delete it. MS said that not the purpose of MSconfig. I looked around and finally found it and deleted it so thanks to all.
