I have an HP2000 notebook and my cd device is not working because the driver is damaged or corrupted. I need to download a clean driver. The driver is hp dvdram gt50n sata cdrom device driver. Does anybody know where I can download a clean driver?

There is no driver as such for an optical drive. If you are getting the "driver cannot load" or other exclamation mark next to the optical drive you have a problem with the registry in Windows. The fix is different for Windows 7 and Windows 8 but it is all spelled out here:

The Microsoft TroubleShooter could not fix the problem and mentioned that the problem is in the Controller. So, where could I find the controller for this device?
