Hi I am thinking of buying a HP Pavilion dv6 - 6071
The internet shop I am looking at has one of these in their stock because it has been returned by buyer. So that makes the price significantly cheaper!
This Pavilion has two slots for RAM, where only one is in use, with 4 GB. If I am buying it I want to upgrade it myself to 8 GB of RAM
On HP official site it says the RAM I need is:
HP 4 GB PC3-10600 (DDR3 1333 MHz) SODIMM AT913AA
I want the cheapes soultion and have been looking around on the net. I found two different types:
- HP 4 GB PC3-10600 (DDR3 1333 MHz) SODIMM
SKU: AT913AA#AC3
and
- HP 4 GB PC3-10600 (DDR3 1333 MHz) SODIMM
SKU: AT913AA
The memory with the AT913AA#AC3 is the cheapest of these two. But I can't find any information that say they are any different. I am guessing there is a difference but just wanted to makse shure and if I only can use AT913AA?
I am also cionsidering buing a different brand (Corsair), and not the official HP. If I buy two of the following (which is the cheapest alternative) will they perform just as good as HP??
Corsair Value DDR3 SO-DIMM 1333MHz 4GB
Unbuffered, 204pin (PC10600)
Thanks for any help!! 🙂

Hi:
You can go with the cheapest of the bunch. Corsair, Crucial, Patriot, G Skill, Kingston...
Just make sure it is unbuffered, non ECC and you know you need PC3-1333 (10600).
- Package: 204-pin SODIMM
- Feature: DDR3 PC3-10600
- Specs: DDR3 PC3-10600 • CL=9 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1333 • 1.50V • 512Meg x 64 •

I am going for the cheapest with all the details you told me to. Everything is good except I cant find these RAM in 1.35v. They are all 1.5v.
Was 1.5v what you ment to write?
and if not can I still use 1.5v RAM for my computer?
Thanks allot for the help, it´s appreciated! 🙂

Hi:
Yes you would. Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook which lists the type and how much memory you can install.

Yeah, sorry if this is simply the same as the others, but I just wanted to make sure, because all the different models require slightly different processes it seems. Mine is the HP Pavilion dv6-6b58sa, and I would like to install 1333Mhz RAM instead of the current 4GB of (something like) 1033. I have found this; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pavilion-dv6-6b58sa-Kingston-Memory-Upgrade/dp/B00CI6GACG apparently it works with my PC, but I'm not sure on the specifics.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your dv6-6b58sa. See chapter 1, pages 4 & 5 for the memory upgrade info.

Actually, your model, since it has the Intel i5 second generation core processor, can take 2 x 8 GB of PC3-10600 (1333 Mhz) memory.
If your current memory module is only 1066 MHz, that is slowing down the works a little because the processor in your notebook can run 1333 MHz memory at its full speed.
