Hello,

The Light beside place where power cord is connected is blinking White light and won't stop. Computer will charge both batteries to 100%, but I don't understand why the white light contunue to blink with and without the power cord plug in.

Usually the light becomes orange when charging and white when fully charged, but now it's always blinking the white LED with and without the power cord attached.

I ran both battery test and both batteries Past.

The Laptop seems to be operating normal and seem to charge and hold charged normal, but I am afriad something is wrong and the LED will drain the battery 2.

Let me know your thoughts and a fix for this issue

Hi @ph19,

Welcome to the HP Forums! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

Thank you for posting. I have read your post, and I understand that the  battery LED keeps flashing. I want to help with that.

What is the product number of your laptop?

Notebook battery light LED flashes

If the battery light LED (which looks like a lightning bolt ) flashes, the battery has insufficient charge to start the computer. (If the notebook does not have the lightning bolt battery power LED, consult the product manual.)
  1. Check the AC adapter to confirm that all of the plugs are securely seated.
  2. Connect the notebook to AC power and attempt to start the computer again.
  3. Check the AC adapter to confirm that all of the plugs are securely seated.
  4. If the AC adapter features an LED power indicator, check to see if the AC adapter LED is lit to verify that the computer is receiving power from the wall outlet.
  5. If the computer operates on AC power correctly, charge the battery for thirty minutes to one hour, and then restart the computer.
 NOTE:
Charging the battery for this length of time is called "trickle charging". Trickle charging is a continuous constant-current charge at a low rate, which recharges the battery slowly when it is in a deep discharge state. Deep discharge occurs when a battery is left unused for extended periods of time.

When the notebook is used for the first time, the white LED light for the AC power blinks. The battery is still in "shipping mode," when the light continues to blink even when the AC power is connected.

To resolve this issue, turn off the notebook, connect the AC power and allow the battery to charge for at least 30 minutes, and then restart the computer.

Hello,

My laptop is the HP Split 13 x2. It's not the lighting bolt, but the charging light next to the Charging plug. I perform both

battery test and both came back OK, because this laptop has a Primary and secondary battery.  Even when both battery are at 100% the white light still blinks.

Please review the image below and let me know how to resolve this issue. I notice with the blinking light drain about 10% through the night.

White light that blinks On /Off all the time. Even when AC is plug in or not

Hi @ph19,

Thank you for the reply.

I checked the manual of your laptop. According to the picture you showed me, that is the AC adapter/Battery light:

● White: The AC adapter is connected and the battery is charged.

● Blinking white: The battery has reached a low battery level.

● Amber: The AC adapter is connected and the battery is charging.

● Off: The computer is using battery power.

Have you tried to calibrate the battery?

You can also try a hard reset:

  1. Turn off the notebook.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the battery.
  6. Reconnect the AC adapter.
  7. Power on the notebook.

Let me know if the AC adaptor light still flashing  after the hard reset.
