WiFi Card 657325-001
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I've tried everything and can't conncet to my network using this card, so that's why I'm here. I upgraded to this card because my original card didn't have bluetooth. When I recieved and installed the card, the only thing that would show is "limited" "no internet access" "unidentified network". I didn't leave any feedback for the eBay user that day and was just going to accept this as a loss and move on; perhaps buy an intel 6200 dual card with bluetooth. This is the strange part...when I was over a friends house, the card connected right away! I log into his network with no problems no matter how many times I try. At Burger King or other places, I get the same message as I do when I'm at home...so what gives? There's actually two places that the card will actually work at, so it is hard to believe it is defective. I always carry USB wireless adapters, so getting on the internet at any place isn't a problem. Are there drivers for this card that I should download instead of using what windows 8.1 installed for me? When I choose "have disk", there's only one set of drivers to choose from. I really would like to keep this card, but don't feel like I should have to pull out my USB wife everytime this one doesn't connect somewhere.

Alright guys, I found the solution!

I got tired of windows 8 and needed 8.1, so I made a fresh install of windows 8.1 and to my surprise, I got the limited, no internet access, unidentified network again! What in the world is going on? Well...here's the fix!

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2041675/windows-broadcom-limited-connectivity-lenovo.html

The fix!
(This is for windows 8.1)

THIS IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS 8.1 & Broadom bcm94313hmg2l.

- Right click on the Windows tile on the bottom left of the taskbar.
- Open 'Device Manager'
- Expand 'Network adapters'
- Right click on your 'Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter'
- 'Update Driver Software'
- 'Browse my computer for driver software'

THIS IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS 8.1 & Broadom bcm94313hmg2l.

- 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
- Un-check 'Show compatible hardware'
- Scroll down on the 'Manufacturer' panel to 'Broadcom' and select it
- Scroll down on the 'Network Adapter:' and find
'Broadcom 802.11 Multiband Network Adapter'
- Select it, and click 'Next'

THIS IS ONLY FOR WINDOWS 8.1 & Broadom bcm94313hmg2l.

- Say yes to the 'Update Driver Warning'

I didn't have the same card and it workd perfectly, like right away without me doing anything else!
- Close and you should be able to connect gracefully.

Hi banhien!

Thank you for the fast reply!

The first driver to that page didn't even give me a wireless device, although the driver installed and it said device ready to use. The second driver installed, but I still have the limited, no internet access and unidentified network status.

I'm not going to tell anyone to do what I did, but my solution was to just redo my computer. I took the hard drive out and hooked it up to a usb slave connected to my 6930p, then used a program to merge and delete partions. At this point, I was so tired of not having a stable computer and was going to install windows 7 on my Envy. I thought the better of it and instead of using my recovery DVDs, I used a windows 8 DVD once I placed the hard drive back into the Envy. Since I've done a restore before, I was thinking this will be a long process...much to my surprised (joy), windows 8 installs just as fast as windows 7!

After the install, there were only around 5 drivers I had to install, wireless wasn't one of them! 🙂 Once everything was installed, I downloaded the Bluetooth software for windows 8 from Lenova to get rid of the BCM20702A0 notification found in my Device Manager.

I was out on a mission yesterday to see if I could really rely on this notebook without using the help of other tools. To my surprise, the notebook performed flawlessly! I had no issues logging in at any location I was at and the bluetooth connections were/are killer fast!

This is exactly what I was expecting when I purchased this computer. Although I had to buy a wireless card with bluetooth, it was a small fee to pay for something I like so much! Thanks to all the forum members here trying their best to give solutions and for taking the time out of their schedule to help us!
