Is there a generic driver or something available for this WiFi/Bluetooth combo adapter for Windows 7? It is for an HP 215 G1. I tried sp61836, then realized it is for Win 8 only. Also tried some older Broadcom wifi drivers to no avail. When I called HP support all they did was send a link to the 215 G1 drivers page. Which of course is the very first place I looked. Any help or any difinitive answer about the possibility of making this work will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi:
Give these a try...
First try the ones from the 850 g1's support page.
If for some reason they don't work...
Wireless...unzip and manually install the first driver listed under the wireless driver section.
http://www.asus.com/Networking/PCEAC66/#support_Download_30
Bluetooth:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029104
The install may fall, but if you used the device manager and update drivers and point to where the software extracted it will install just fine.

You're very welcome.
Glad to have been of assistance.
I don't work for HP, but I imagine the HP tech support staff have to deal with such a huge range of technical issues, they are not familiar with specific problems unless they come up repeatedly.
Finding the right drivers is kind of like a hobby for me, so I really get into the weeds regarding this stuff.
I have actually modified drivers on rare occasions to work on some devices.
