I would like to add that auto-rotation on my machine isn't working as well. After upgrading to Windows 10 home the auto-rotation lock isn't even avail or shown either in the display menu or action center.
HP Spectre 4005-dx model.
1. My drivers (HP, Intel, Microsoft) are all updated
2. Reinstalling Windows 10 (clean install, with formatted SDD) did not fix the issue
3. I tried the fast ring as well hoping to get additional KB Builds but no luck
4. I tried starting with the oldest BIOS and worked myself up but still no luck
5. I messed around with Windows 10 services as well and ensured "Sensor xxx" services are all running (they are).
I was only able to reveal the Auto Rotation icon on the action center when I did regedit to set
SensorPresent = 1
Endable = 1
However this icon is greyed out and could not be changed. "Lock rotation of this display" on the display setting is also permanently greyed out and is set to ON.
Could anyone please show a screenshot of their Device Manager? I read somewhere that there is supposed to be a "sensor" category there but I'm not sure if that is only for other devices, not Spectre.

Any news on this?
I also don't have the rotation button after a clean install of windows 10 (all possible hp drivers installed and reinstalled many times)
Rotation was working in 8.1 so I don't think it is defective hardware.
No orientation sensor is present in device manager Ony one hid sensors device.
Seems to be in 8.1 it was managed by hp event driver, I installed it too but nothing changed.
Does rotation in windows 10 work on spectre x360 for anyone? If yes, can you please tell what sensors do you have in device manager, and their hardware IDs?

Then your problem is unrelated to mine - not same. Sorry.
BTW, I also
1) Deleted all HP drivers and let Windows 10 install it's own
2) Used registry change from http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Windows/Spectre-X360-Screen-rotation/td-p/5172398
Goto path -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation
Check the value of Enable file if it is 0 rotation will be OFF, if 1 rotation will be ON.
(and also set SensorPresent to 1 there)

Unfortunately, when the option you are refering to no longer exist, the issue continues. I am not seeing a lot of people comment on this topic in any depth. Most of the people simply have "settings" problems. I am having or believe that I am having a hardware or driver problem.
For me, It seems that the entire "360" feature set has broken. No auto-rotate when fliping or rotating screen, no keyboard deactivation, no touch pad deactivation, no options or even a hint that there are any "auto rotate" sensors or settings.
Additional Questions:
If Windows 10 removes options for screen rotation, or "auto rotation" how can you force Windows 10 to re-detect, or otherwise re-enable these settings.
Does anyone know the name or the device or device driver information for a HP Spectre 360? I think the issue relates to driver update failures subsequent to the November Windows 10 update.
Another side-effect of the issue I am having is that the "Airplane Mode" is activated after each reboot. I do not appear to have any issues with wifi or bluetooth, just the mode appears active
Additional Comments:
Sorry for the long post, I'm very frustrated with having my perfectly working laptop suddenly have issues with intrinsic features. Lots of people talking about the issue, but it seems there are no technical discussions of the issue, only end user "settings" discussions.

I have exactly the same set of problems: "No auto-rotate when fliping or rotating screen, no keyboard deactivation, no touch pad deactivation, no options or even a hint that there are any "auto rotate" sensors or settings".
And this one as well:
"Airplane Mode" is activated after each reboot. I do not appear to have any issues with wifi or bluetooth, just the mode appears active.
I'm using Spectre x360 updgraded to Windows 10 1511 with latest bios and drivers. Not english language version, can this be relevant?
HP please DO SOMETHING with it, isn't Spectre x360 your flag model recommended for Windows?!?
