Hi,
I have a Compaq 610 laptop With windows 7 preinstalled. I have been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 using Windows 10 media creation tool but the upgrade failed with an error. My laptop configuration is
Hard Drive 320 GB
Ram 3 GB
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo
I wanted to know is my laptop compatible for Windows 10 Upgrade, as I have got the Windows 10 Upgrade reservation request before July 29 so I think It must be compatible. Is there any other way for clean upgrade to Windows 10 for HP Laptops.
Thanks.

What is the failure error message?
Your notebook is likely to be incompatible with Windows 10.

I had to do a fresh install for the windows 10 upgrade success. Seems it just cant deal with multiple partitions or multi boot systems [which mine was] especially if you have the 32bit version and somehow try to get the 64bit win10 upgrade [don't ask me but the log shows the upograde will reach advance stages before failing]
so reinstall windows 7, basically reset your pc to how it was on purchase, the upgrade will kick-in and with some luck, complete the process

I recommend that you read up on the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. Once you do that you will understand the reason that a 32-bit oS cannot recognize that a 64-bit OS is installed.
