There are 2 similar threads that may be of help.  There are links to drivers, etc.

I will be doing the upgrade in about 4 weeks time and can report back then.

I will be monitoring other's efforts with great interest.

Best,

Mark (Seattlerain)

Hey guys,  I just wanted to let you know that there are drivers that work.   Download the drivers from HP that say they are for vista.   The installers wont work (it will say that it is not the right OS) but the drivers will work.

You will need to download 7zip (www.7zip.com) and extract the EXE files.  You can then go into the device manager in windows 7 and install each device manually.   Its a pain in the neck but it works.  I have my DV2000 running windows 7 with all devices recognized and working.   Id be happy to help if you cant get it working.  Just let me know!

Hi,

When there will be some kind of problems with installation of any Vista driver then try to run it in compatibility mode.

Ok, another month has passed, I've "checked frequently", and still there are no driver updates for my dv2200t.

I cannot run my laptop for more than 45 minutes without the ac adapter (3 hrs run time prior to the Win 7 upgrade). HP, what gives? The dv2 is the first system listed in your "HP notebook series supported with Windows 7" table:

Mhoopes,

Read this thread;

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Operating-systems-and-software/DV2000-CTO-and-Windows-7-upgrade/td-p/16...

My dv2000 has an AMD processor and I followed the directions downloading the correpsonding Nvidia

chipset drivers.  My Win7 install is working nicely and the battery/power management is behaving similar to

when it was WinXP.

My thought would be to download the Nvidia chipset drivers, per

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Operating-systems-and-software/Windows7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv2000/m-p/18...

uninstall the battery/power management drivers in device manager, refresh and see if that corrects your problems.

Good luck.

Seattlerain - thanks for the advice. I have an Intel Mobility 945 Express chipset.

Chipset Components

Memory Controller:

I/O Controller:

Intel(R) 82801GBM/GHM I/O controller hub (ICH7M/ICH7MDH) SATA Controller found in AHCI mode

Integrated Graphics:

I downloaded and ran the update utility, and deleted and refreshed the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" entry in the Device Manager. This didn't change anything with that driver, which still has a 2006 date. Was that the correct driver to refresh? I didn't see anything related to power in the System Devices tree, other than "ACPI Power Button".

This was a clean Win 7 install.

Anyone have any luck with this battery issue with the Intel chipset, without buying a new battery?

Thanks,

Mike

I am also having the exact same problems with the HP Pavilion dv2000.

I tried looking through HP's website for updated drivers, but most of the ones that I attempted to install did not translate well with Windows 7.  My battery life is also extremely short compared to before.

If anyone has an answer, I am definitely interested.
