did not work .  lastpass keeps asking me to swipe my finger which I do and then it says it cant recognize my fingerprint.

Did you at least get windows logon functionality?

I had a similar problem with Simplepass not working after updating from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 .... I got it working by simply running it in compatibility mode for Windows 8.  I did the following to make SimplePass work for my computer.

Go to "Program Files", (or "Program Files (x86)" if your using  Windows 64 bit).  Then go into the "HP SimplePass" folder and find the file "Splash.exe".  Right-Click on that file and select "Properties".  Click on the "Compatibility" tab and check mark the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"   and make sure "Windows 8" is selected in the drop down list below the box.

Hit "Apply", "OK" and then run "Splash.exe" to startup SimplePass.  The program should be now be working with the fingerprint reader along with windows login integration.

Hi - I would like to say that worked but it did not. I got Program Compaitbility error and the Widnows troubleshooter tried to fix it but could not (it set it back to Windows 7 but still did not work).

You might also need to make all the ".exe" files in the SimplePass folder to run in compatibility mode .. I do also remember having to do something like that to get the fingerprint reader working for LastPass login.   You'll have to excuse me, my brain doesn't work so well this early in the morning ... you'd think I'd remember changing the other .exe files as well.    :Surprise:

Hi Tried that also - changed all the exe's to windows 8 compatitbilty (some did not give me the option) and it shows first screen and then nothing - no error - just goes away

That kinda sucks  ....  if the fingerprint/biometric decive driver is current then maybe find another version of SimplePass .. is about all I can suggest for now.    :Crying:

That said, what version are you using?

HP Recommended

6.0

Sorry for the late response, work tends to sorta get in my way  :generic:     This is the version I have working on my laptop (after I changed the installed .exe files to compatibility mode for windows 😎 ... no guarantee’s it will work for you but worth giving a try since nothing else seems to be working for ya:

Hi - well that worked!! You need to share this with the world since others have the same issue after upgrading to Win 8.1.  I tried a lot of fixes for months now but none worked but yours!!!

thank you
