Hi, I cracked my Windows 8.1 about 2 years ago and I haven't used it since. I turned it on the other day and it won't stay on unless the charger is on it. How could I fix this problem? Also, it is just really slow and I've tried resetting it and it does nothing. I tried selling it on Facebook but no one wanted it so I was just going to keep it as a backup computer. I thought it still worked fine even though it was cracked. I looked up how to fix a slow computer and it said to hold the F11 button and the power button to reboot and it should work but I think it made the computer worse. When I try to open an application, it's like it freezes for a minute and then it goes back to normal. I NEED HELP.
Problems I need solved: --Won't stay on unless the charger is on it.--
--Is really slow.--
Thanks so much!

It sounds like you have a faulty battery and some common problems with hp are batterys there is a notice on the hp website when you search for your model check to see if that comes under it? As you may need to replace your internal battery....
As for you computer being really slow you may need to do a couple of things to speed it up.
Step 1) Unistall any programes/games etc or delete anything that you dont need on your computer.
Step 2) Go and right click on c drive then proberties and do a disk clean up or you can type disk cleanup on the search bar at the bottom of windows and do that to clear up some space.
Step 3) Do a antivirus scan and a malware scan there are loads of free ones on google like avg etc.
Step 4) if its still the same then you may need a fresh installation depending on when you have installed windows?
