!! I wrote them myself ages ago on this discussion, even on a separate discussion so people can see them clearly. Wasn't my idea though, credit goes to someone on this board.

About leshcat's drivers, you are soo lucky to be able to install them! I couldn't delete the original AMD & intel packages from my system, so wasn't able to have a clean install, as everytime I uninstall them then immediately come back
I just installed drivers for my AMD 6370 in compatibility mode after a over a week of frustration, and it works! Thank you for this temporary fix. I had trouble uninstalling all the AMD remnants, too, and have been on many wild goose chases. I was going to restore my hard driver from a USB cd rive clone if this didn't work. Switchable graphics work and it's been to sleep with no blank screen upon wake up. Of course, everything worked for a couple of days when I first upgraded (hard to call it that) and then went south. Would auto update affect the GPU drivers?
We'll see, thanks again!

You are most welcome, and many thanks to the guy who originally wrote the solution, it was for " simplepass drivers, and it worked for the switchable graphics too.
I tried to update the drivers ... and things went back to the second I installed windows 8 where the AMD driver is not identified and has an exclamation mark sign next to it.
maybe I did something wrong!! or missed something ... I don't know
what i do know for sure is that all happened just after I finished installation , furthermore, when I tried to uninstall the drivers and re-install the original ones with windows 7 compatibility mode, it didn't work. and I had to reset my system back to factory setting and re-install windows 8 on a clean fresh hard.
I guess your card will get an updated drivers for windows 8 ... hence you won't be waiting for long

Sorry you had those problems - know what it's like.
Where did you hear about an updated driver for the HD6370? HP has told me that it won't be supported...

Just know that my model is a dv7t-6c00.
================================================
Here are the cards for SP59850, please check your FULL Hardware ID against this list to determine compatibility with SP59850:
Code:
ATIR300="WDDM (R300)"
AMD68E4.1 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6370M"
AMD68E4.2 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6370M"
AMD6760.1 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6470M"
AMD6760.2 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6470M"
AMD6760.3 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6490M"
AMD6760.4 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6490M"
AMD6760.5 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6490M"
AMD6760.6 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6490M"
AMD6741.1 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6630M"
AMD6741.2 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6750M"
AMD6741.3 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6750M"
AMD6740.1 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6740.2 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6740.3 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6740.4 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6740.5 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6740.6 = "Radeon (TM) HD 6770M"
AMD6760.7 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7450M"
AMD6760.8 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7450M"
AMD6760.9 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7450M"
AMD6760.10 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7470M"
AMD6760.11 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7470M"
AMD6741.4 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7690M"
AMD6740.7 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7690M XT"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
You know homes I don't even know what the hell I'm looking for anymore.
What is this?? AMD6740.7 = "Radeon (TM) HD 7690M XT"
these are my Hardware ID's for the Radeon they show some 6740 stuff, but nothing like a .7
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_185E103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_185E103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&CC_0300
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
updated
Hmmm well OK looking at that list of yours this IS on the list at the very bottom
"%AMD6740.7%" = ati2mtag_Vancouver_PXAI, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_185E103C
So I assume the 7 = 76xx cards, and it has my subsys numbers 185103C, so what ya think?? would it be a shot?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, since its not listed on my driver download page it means it hasn't been certified by HP to work for my model, so I don't know how the Intel part would act even if the Radeon works.
