For those of us with gen 1 core  processors its better to stick with compatibility mode.

My system(Hp pavilion dv7 4285dx) installed the AMD catalyst 12.10 and 12.11 beta without any hitches. The device manager showed two video cards but the system was actually using the Intel HD graphics(i ran the windows experience index).

How did Brandiu(the guy who started this thread) manage to get switchable graphiccs working with the AMD drivers(12.10) and the Intel drivers provided by Microsoft? His notebook is almost similar to mine.

Not windows defender, but in case you have installed another security program, you should turn it off

____
one think you could also try
if you have set the compatibility to windows 7, and it didn't install

then go to the compatibility tap and click on run compatibility troubleshooter

it should work

I have installed Windows Defender only and I have no other antivirus. I have tried everything but it does not work. I also tried on fresh installation of windows 8: it was useless. And, as I have already written before, the hardware ID of my graphics card is: PCI \ VEN_1002 & DEV_6760 & SUBSYS_3581103C
but is not present in the. installation inf file of the driver 59850.
But what graphics card I have? :Surprise:

just to confirm

is this the graphic card driver you were trying to install on windows 7 compatibility mode?

I also tried these drivers in compatibility mode but I get an error message during the installation. It is possible that my graphics card is defective?
