I'm confused. Is everyone following the instructions of the original poster? I have a HP dv6t-6B00 with an i7 dual quad core. I simply downloaded and installed the new catalyst center software given in the link by the OP and installed it ON TOP of the original catalyst software. I had already updated the AMD ATI Radeon driver through the HP site. My switchable graphics now works flawlessly.

I have the Radeon HD 6490M Video card & Intel on-board graphics HD 3000

I for one certainly NOT following ...

have you seen how many posts on this topic ?? why would you assume that we all have the time to pass on every post!
you'll notice plenty of repeated questions all along the entire forum not just this topic 🙂

Ps. I think I tried what you suggested or what the OP suggested supposedly, however, it didn't work, and my cards are intel + HD radeon 5650

I have a HP Pavilion g6 1219 SG and upgraded to Windows 8. HP provides the notebook with an AMD Video driver for Windows 8, but somehow I can't get my AMD graphics card to work. It is a Radeon 6470M but it is displayed in the system as Radeon 7400M Series (WDDm v 1.20) with a yellow exclamation mark ? What's wrong? Whyat to do???

Hi, the installer from HP created a folder named SwSetup in C:\. Go to C:\Swsetup\Drivers\Video\Bin64, right click on Setup.exe and select windows 7 in the compatibility tab. The installation of driver and Catalyst will proceed and after reboot will work fine.
