Hey guys, so I'm completely lost. Can someone link me to instructions on going from windows 7 to windows 8 with switchable graphics. I mean steps from after installing windows 8. I have tried to search, but if you could even point me in the right direction that would be great. I mean, I get that I install the hp AMD drivers, but where do I get the intel drivers that it runs with right now? I want to be able to have both, does the AMD drivers include the intel ones? Thanks!

Actually there may (or may not) be an HP update to fix the issue. Allot has changed in the last week. First, you need to know your exact model number such as dvx-xxxx. Let us know what that is.

Hey, does anyone know if the sp59850 or Leshcat drivers will support my computer?  I have a two year old HP Pavilion dv6t-3000 with Intel HD switchable graphics and ATI Mobility Raeon HD 5000 Series.  I recently upgraded to Windows 8 and can no longer support HDMI out to an external monitor.  Thanks for your help!

I have the same graphic cards

It's better to use your original HP drivers from hp.com on windows 7 compatibility mode.

here are the steps :

Ps. if you are using AV, make sure to turn it off during the setup, as some had this issue

Hi all,

I'm using g7 1222-em hp latop with Intel HD 3000 and Ati HD6470M graphics with Windows 8. Those should be switchable graphics. I have updated BIOS, got the latest drivers from hp site, re-installed Windows ... I have followed all the steps from instructions posted on this forum. However, I wasn't successful in solving this problem. Currently only Intel graphic card is working for me.

When I try to force Windows to use drivers provided by HP it says: " Windows found driver software but encountered and error while attempting to install it."

Are there any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

1. After I reinstalled Windows, I tried with straighforward procedure of just installing the drivers provided on the support site for my laptop model. I only had: Intel Media compontets, AMD Catalyst intall manager, AMD APP SDK runtime. Driver for HD6470 wasn't successfully installed.

2. I tried procedures on this forum that was marked as solved such as:

etc

I am aware that those procedures are not strictly for my lap model.

as I suspected

well, those steps should work just fine with you, you may have done something wrong ..

HOWEVER

I don't understand why you should be interested in using windows 7 compatibility mode, when, I think, you have an updated driver by HP to use for your windows 8 !!

lemme check the page for your card, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere

Hi all,

check HP.com and lookup your device, you'll find that you already have updated drivers for windows 8
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5186417&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

look them up from your regional site, This has an nr ending, not sure what that means anyway, but its the same device

Yes, I am aware that site for my device contains drivers ATI driver for windows 8, but those are not working for me. In earlier post i explained which of the components it installed for me. ATI installer doesn't recognize my HD6470 card. I will try now with the driver for nr device and see the result.

I'm sorry I didn't get that part earlier, my bad.

Anyways, look up the drivers released in december, for the 6470 there were new updates recently for the switchable graphics.

check them out in here

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=5179160&...

look for the new "AMD drivers windows 8 " in the search, and only check the latest ones, end of Nov or 6, 7, 8 of december or later
