Hi berlen,
I understand that you are looking for the Graphics Drivers since updating to 8.1. I have included a document for 'Switchable Graphics on Notebook Configured with Intel and ATI GPUs'. This will walk you through making sure that all your settings are correct.
Now as well I have included a link to AMDs' Graphic Driver and Software page. Under Step 1: select the type of system that you have, and then under Step 2: select auto detect and install.
I have also included the Intel Driver Update Utility. Once you do open this page on your computer, you should see an option for 'Check your system for updates'.
Please let me know if this has resolved the issue, thank you.

You got to be kidding me here, do you work for HP? Have you any idea about what your saying?
The HP Radeon things, are not supported by AMD, nor is the Intel driver. Only HP OEM drivers work on these laptops with switchable graphics. And it took 3 months after W8 was released to even get HP to produce a driver for it. Now with W8.1 I assume it will be just as long or who knows, I did manage after a re install of SP 59850 to get W8.1 back to using the radeon card, but this is a very old driver that is dated Aug 2012, and released Dec 2012.
AMD does NOT support this Radeon 7690m xt, and Intel doesn't show anything when running the auto update for the Intel 3000 either. This has been a sore point with all of those with this goofy setup, ONLY the Gforce people have it right and they can D/L the NVIDIA driver direct from the site.
I have gone through this way back when with AMD, HP, and Intel, you might want to look at several of my old posts on this. As for me I have given up on anything radeon and switchable, I will no longer buy anything with that setup, even HP and most laptop makers have long since gone to Gforce cards to stop all the complaining about drivers.
Only people that can use the AMD drivers right from AMD are those with actual retail radeon cards like the 7990m these HP radeon cards are not retail cards, they are re branded items.
Don't confuse people more than nesseary.

@Lil_Lisa27: thank you for your answer, but I don't think that I can install AMD and Intel drivers separately because the graphic card are switchable... the only possibility, I think, is to find a bundle version of intel+ati drivers, like unofficial ones (leshcat, but there is a problem with certificates, and last time I tried, I got a blue screen) or like hp one, but for my pc the last official driver is dated 2010 and does not work at all with windows 8.1 (the screen becomes black during the installation, setting compatibility with win7)

You are totally right, Hoody: my brother has a Nvidia, and he can update drivers from the official site...
So there is no solution, as I expected! I'm stuck with Intel 1st, which is a toy graphic card...

Hi berlen,
Thank you for the information. Yes depending on the revision of the switchable graphics in your system this can happen. Although with the setup that you do have (not knowing the revision), you can update the drivers from Intel and ATI. Graphic module companies will create the drivers first and then disperse through out the necessary channels, meaning the companies such as HP may not release updated graphics at the same time.
With regards to your setup, to make sure of what you can do in updating and making sure that your system is working properly. I would create a Restore Point on your computer, and then update the Intel Graphics first. After updating the Intel I would then update the ATI. I have included a document here for creating a Restore Point on your computer. Then use the links above to update the Intel first and then the ATI.
If that fails to resolve the issue may need to wait until HP release an update for your version of Windows.

Thanks for your efforts Lisa,
here it is the hardware id of my intel graphic card (1st gen)
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_144A103C&REV_02
and my ati radeon hd 5470m
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68E0&SUBSYS_144A103C&REV_00
Currently I am running the drivers that windows update automatically found for intel graphics hd (8.15.10.2900, release date: 26/11/2012), I think that they are no more updated, while ati card is not recognized (a warning sign appears in control panel, devices).
I tried searching on the intel website, but the auto-recognition tool is not useful (it says: This device is unknown or unsupported)
Since the intel drivers should be up to date, is your suggestion to install the last drivers for my graphic device (13.11 beta1)?
Even if hp will release graphic drivers for windows 8.1, there will be no update for my laptop, because hp dropped support already in 2011 (I bought my laptop in 2010).

Hi berlen,
With the Intel drivers try this link out, http://www.eightforums.com/graphic-cards/4418-mobile-intel-series-4-intel-hd-graphics-1st-generation....
Here is the update for Windows 8 http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%208%20-%2064, try these out. If this does fail to update your graphics you will need to wait until AMD puts out an update for 8.1
Thank you.
