Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I need to get the network drivers etc to be able to connect to the internet.

I see there are numerous examples of this, but I am still having trouble getting my computer to recognize anything that I install, meaning I must be installing the incorrect drivers.  Would someone mind giving me some links? Thanks.

Thank you very much Paul. I'm not sure how you wade through all these drivers and are able to pick the correct ones. For example, why are so many drivers listed on this page? How do you know which ones are correct for what you need? Many of the drivers in the "network" section are listed as "wireless drivers."

Anyway, much appreciated.

You're very welcome.

After several years of doing this, I know most of the hardware ID's by heart.

But how I learned where to find the drivers initially, was to google the ID's and they will provide at least some info regarding the device.

Then you to to your notebook's support and driver page, and pick the driver that most closely matches the device description Google turns up.

The toughest one on your page was the PCI Simple Communications Controller.  Google will tell you that it is the Intel Management Engine Interface, but your notebook has two drivers for that.

So which one do you choose?  For that you have to know the processor and chipset your model has.

Yours has an Intel first generation core processor, so I knew your model needed the IMEI driver I posted, and not the other one which is for notebooks with second generation Intel core processors.
