Hello everyone!
I am having some issues with the drivers provided for my laptop (Envy 17-j178ca). I tried to install all possible drivers from the hp website.
Tried to diagnose it and windows complains that there is a trouble with the drivers .. even though it shows that it is enabled and active I cannot connect or even see the list of wireless possible connection points. All it shows big red cross whenever I try to open the list of available networks. Very weird, but any help would be appreciated.
Regards.

Okey fellas!
Who ever got the problem with Wireless Adapters download from the link above for corresponding windows (7x32,7x64, or 8s) ..
My Problem resolved.... HORAY! Some credit to HP company and huge credit to my creativity ... XD
Get this In Legacy Mode re-installed Windows 7 x 64 (SP1) and Wireless Adapeter installed right away before installing any other DRIVERS (driver link from above NOT FROM HP link) :
During installation pick CUSTOM intallation and select ALL 3 Checkmarks....
After installation I was able to use and see the networks all over my building (YEAH yeeeeee).
FINALLY...
Install the rest of the drivers as required (chipset <<< might disable you WIFI adapters during installation ) but no worries should enable it after its completion. ) and the rest of them AUDIO, Video can be "AUTO DETECTED" and installled at nvidia.com
REST is u p to you!
WARNING DO NOT INSTALL RAPID STORAGE UNTILL ALL UPDATES AND DRIVERS INSTALLATION...
otherwise it will not allow you to install anything... (WINDOWS UPDATES) ESPECIALLY.... common problem of microsoft...
release but not test proper.. (just my opinion all rights reserved XD)
HAPPY CUSTOMER USING your PC till it the END of it.... 😛
GOOD LUCK!!!!

I would love to but Partition table failed and was dropped so I had to reformat it...
The only thing is that drivers work fine as it shows in device manager, but Connection manager states that Wireless adapter is "NOT READY". Unfortinately uninstallation and reinstallation doesn't help.
Trying to update my windows 7 may be there is something missing to help resolve this issue, but I doubt.
Your help greatly appreciated!

If you have read my previous posts then you should understand that I have installed a fresh copy of WIn7x64 on this laptop and RESTORE POINT will not help.
I have a question in my mind will the UEFI makes a difference on the drivers or hardware that I use? Because I was installing win7 using legacy mode and I am thinking if I can turn ON UEFI mode and try reinstall the windows 7 again will it make any difference or affect it somehow?
Or if I switch from Legacy mode to UEFI right now will it screw up everything or I have to re-install windows anyway?

http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/21149-intel-wifi-drivers/page-6#entry147922
Unfortunately, it did not worked for me none of the drivers, but it might help anyone to speed up thing or 2.
