HP Notebook - 17-by2008ca Product number 7PV36UA#ABL Serial number 5CG9454VY8
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This new laptop purchased last Black Friday has been acting weird since week 1 while I have not been using this frequently until 2nd week of December so I have found so many inconvenience with this machine.

Our My Rogers Ignite TV/Internet subscription has been delivering awesome connection from 140-190Mbps for more than a year and Wi-Fi has always worked without disruption with more or less 18 connections to include smart bulbs, plugs, 2 google minis, 2 laptops, 3 Ipads, 3 iPhones and 3 web cams, Ignite TV console, 2 Samsung Smart TV, PS4 and Xbox one however whenever I open this HP Notebook with Prod Number above, it shuts down the whole internet connection including all other connected devices within 5 minutes after turning on my laptop , the Wi-Fi stops working on everything in the house.  Rogers tech has been coming back and forth for service check and just two yesterday, they end up trying the last resort to  change their modem/router with new one after making sure Outdoor lines and Indoor wires and peripherals were hooked up properly and checked while speed was excellent beyond expectation and Wi-Fi signal was very strong from basement to ground floor.

The crazy thing was that even if I disconnects all other devices and just browse with few tabs open, this laptop causes disconnection to itself and the rest, it will take few 2-5 mins to restore internet again.  While I have tried also some instructions sent by HP support in the HP Community re: reinstall Windows 10, update Network Adapters, etc.  I had reinstalled  Windows 10, McAfee, Chrome 2x today and still the same issue.  Wi-Fi starts working again and continuous is my laptop is off, BTW, my wife has the same model of laptop but was about 2 months older than mine but working well and never had an issue, that is why I bought the same model as well.

I have seen some recommendations of scanning virus and malwares, we did a lot already and never had any except for just 2 updates needed today made by McAfee, been having this kind of reinstall and performance check and lacking sleep this holiday due to this but to no avail.

Rogers tech. already gave up as they have confirmed that it is not any of the connection or hardware causing this but it is specific to this machine which I agree, I wanted to exchange this machine if possible, i can add few bucks to get the right one and I am not okay of having this kind of trouble for such issues...I am an HP fan but now I am worried.

Please help respond and let me know what can be done to get a fix or can I have this replaced by Best Buy without the extended warranty since it is now almost a month. and I need a PC to work from home for 3 months.

Thank you in advance.

Hi:

This forum member has the exact same issue with the same model series, and same wifi adapter.

I gave him the latest driver to no avail.

Something is terribly wrong with either the wifi card, HP factory image, or the model series itself.

Since this is a peer to peer forum, I suggest you call HP customer service and submit a support case under the warranty, or return the notebook for a different model if you still can.
