You can give that a shot.

 

Did you verify that the newer driver was installed?

 

You would look on the driver tab for the atheros wireless card in the device manager.

 

That tab would give the driver version and date.  It should be some date in 2011.

 

Sometimes this does not work in 100% of the cases with this problem, but it does for most of them.

 

On the ones where it doesn't work, I would have no additional suggestions to offer.
