The first time I tried to connect my brand new wireless mouse, I couldnt get it  connect. I plugged in the receiver part and turned the mouse on, which already had batteries in it, and did what the directions said, and i can't get it to connect. I tried holding down theconnect button for a least 15 seconds. The directions it came with didnt tell me much, and I looked it up on he internet, and even that didnt help any. And the mouse is lighting up perfectly fine.

Hi @TheycallmeKK ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Notebook and the Wireless mouse not working. Here is a link to wireless mouse issues.

Have you installed the drivers?

Have you restarted the Notebook since you have installed the Wireless Mouse?

What is the Manufacturer of the Mouse?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

My receiver for the mouse goes in the laptop, and the link you provided says not to place it near a computer. My receiver looks like a memory stick, and it says 8 GB on the front of it, and in the pictures of how to set up the mouse it has the memory stick being plugged in the laptop. Also, it does not have a button on it like the link says it should. Only the mouse has a connect button on the bottom of it. I think my mouse is a 3000x HP wireless mouse.

Hey @TheycallmeKK

I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Have you tried a different USB port on the Laptop.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Your mouse dongle should look something like this:

WIRELESS MOUSE

If it says 8GB on it it's probably just a usb flashdrive

My computer model is an HP 15-f059wm Notebook. On the front of the box it says the mouse is a x3000 and has a 8GB USB Memory Stick. If the memory stick isnt the receiver, then I don't know what it is. In the picture you provided, the blue thingy im talkong about does not look like that. I don't think mine came with anything that looks like that. This is what mine looks like.....WIN_20141231_113959.JPG

Hey @TheycallmeKK ,

Ok thanks for the additional information. The device you would put in for the Wireless mouse would not say USB memory stick or 8GB. With the memory stick in the computer try to copy a file to it.

If yes that worked you do not have the adapter for the Wireless mouse and need to call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link to get the support number for your region. They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Thanks.

I called Hp support and they said they were going to send me a receiver in the mail, and then that person directed e to someone else, and she said that I should go back to where i purchased it, and tell them, and they should give me another mouse or receiver. I dont know how well thats going to work, because then I will have to take a whole pile of stuff in there, and Walmart may not even give me a replacement, so I'm hoping i will get that receiver in the mail.

Hi @TheycallmeKK .

If they told you they are sending you a new one, they are sending you a new one.

I'm glad they are.

Please let me know if you need any help.
