hi recently i installed a copy of window xp for my mum's notebook.it was window vista basic before.everything was fine except for the wireless connection.i can't seem to turn it on.it stays orange even when i flicked the switch.i try updating too.i reset the bios but the **bleep** thing won't turn blue! help please! and the model is hp compaq presario v3757.

Through the HP support page I was directed to this page:

which was a diagnostic for just this problem.  I said no until it asked if I could connect with a CAT 5 cable (Yes) ... it suggested I reinstall the WIRELESS driver... so I did and, on rebooting not only did the light turn blue, the entire list of neighboring Wireless LANs (including my own) came back!!  Problem fixed as far as I can tell.
