Hi:
You didn't mention what model PC you have.
Below is the link to the W7 x64 AMD chipset driver you need which will install the USB 3.0 controllers.
Download and install the first file listed.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#2
Some of the newest models have a problem with the above driver.
If the above driver fails to install the USB 3.0 controllers automatically, then you will need to make some minor modifications to the driver.
Please read the thread below, and the next to the last post will be the most helpful to you in that regard.

Sorry that didn't work for you.
Your model would be one of those where just running the driver doesn't work.
Since you tried the steps in the other thread I posted, then I unfortunately, have no idea what you can do now, since everyone else who has made that change was able to get the driver to work.
There were others on other threads who had this problem.
My recommendation would be to reinstall W8 and wait for the free W8.1 release and update to that.
You can customize it to work 90-95% like W7.
I do not like W8, and if my PC came with W8.1, I would not install W7...you can customize it that much to be acceptable.

Im thinking of just thinking of sticking with windows 7 and deal with it if there is no way to fix the problem. Cause i have absolutely no intent of ever switching back to window 8.
thanks for the help anyway.
Edit: i went farther up the post and seen that you mention unziping the exe so i tried that and then tried installng driver and now it works perfectly ty so much.
