hello , i bought this laptop brand new everything is fine except the audio its not working , i installed the latest driver from the drivers list on the website, i also updated the bios but also didnt fix the issue .
any hel please !

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum
Please follow the steps given below:
1. Disable the Intel Smart Sound (ISST) option in BIOS
2. Uninstall the installed Audio drivers from Device Manager.
3. Reinstall the Audio drivers once again.

I have almost over 100 of these laptops and the sound keeps crashing.I do not see where to Disable the Intel Smart Sound (ISST) option in BIOS?Can you give me more info. Do i need an older verison of the bios?I have the newest one listed on Hp website.

Hello I have the same problem with four laptop. This is an annoying issue cause I have to reinstall the drivers over and over. By the way when you install the audio driver the laptop show a problem and force restart (like a blue screen)

Below I show you the option as KBT86 say but there is not such opcion for Intel Smart Audio (ISST).
- Press Esc, then BIOS Setups (F10)
- Go to Advanced, Select Built-In Device Options

i am also having the same issue and posted a separate thread as well.
I also cannot find the option to disable Intel ISST in the bios.
This is quite annoying since i bought a brand new laptop and also there is no HP service centre here in Pakistan.
Pretty disappointed by HP lately!!!!
