Hi,

When my battery is almost empty it doesn't give a warning. I have an HP G62 and windows 7. My laptop shut down (black screen). Before I always got an popup which says I should connect my laptop to power. When I restart my laptop I got a window where they asking me 'windows normal starting'. And i'm lost all my internet settings and thinks I saved..

Problems started since I changed my HD (because my HD crashed). I changed my HD from 52  00 rpm to 7200 rpm.

Can somebody help me thanks.

The only other thing would be for the battery to crawl out of the laptop and keel over dead in front of you. At a certain point you have to accept the obvious. As Monty Python said about the Parrot:

E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!!

Please try:

(a) Click the arrow at the bottom right corner,

(b) Click Customize,

(c) Change Power to "Show icon and notifications"

Yes this is ok. Icons and notifications are enabled for energy (battery).

So, what should I do now? My problem is still not solved..

Hi

No they doesn't help the methods in the link.

I still have this problems:

When my laptop is on without power supply, suddenly around 30% battery level my laptop shuts down without giving a warning.

When I restart my laptop I got the black screen where they ask how I want to restart my laptop, (safe mode or normal mode). So I chose normal mode. Then is my battery still around 30% or a little less. Then when my battery is getting more empty, then I do get a warning for shutting down my laptop or connect external ac power supply.

So it's strange.

It's not always, mostly when i'm running something on my laptop like movie playing.. or other things that require energy.. then mostly it happens.

I did a battery test with HP. The result was that my battery is 'weak'. Could that be the reason, that my battery is not good anymore? I use an external battery monitor but that is the same as the windows 7 battery percentage icon.

The problems started since I changed my hard disk from 5200 rpm to 7200 rpm and did a completely reinstall from windows 7 (because my HD was crashed).

Hey Cozyzz,

I did read you post about the Battery draining. You could try the following document to help resolve this issue.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07110

You could also try HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

Please let me know if you require further assistance.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.. but can you give me more information?

What do you want that I do? Update my Bios?

I also installed HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. But it's just a folder on my laptop.. don't know how it works or what I should do.

Hi Coyzz,

You need to run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. It will show you if there is something going on with the battery.

You could watch this video from Youtube it is an easy fix.

Since today when I start up my laptop I get this warning:

HP Battery Alert

The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low.

For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.

Primary (internal) Battery (601)

ENTER - Continue Startup

For more information, please visit: www.hp.com\go\techcenter\startup

see: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&tmp_geoLoc=true&docname=c01443470

So I did a battery test with HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

The result was "failed" I did it twice. I did it also without powercord plugged in and while I was doing it the test, my laptop shuts down. I also got an failure ID number don't know if that's important?

I did also the battery test with HP support assistant (this test worked), the result was now: "very weak" . A week ago it was just "weak".

So I think my battery is dead, that's probably the reason of my problems not? What do you think??
