Dear Customer,

Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you.

This is to inform you that all HP Business Notebooks such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models infact they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial Number and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.

Please have a look at this link.

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/49497-HP-Probook-Elitebook-BIOS-Password-Reset-Utility

Please Contact HP Business Notebook support they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

Regards

Mahemac

Then you have 2 options.

Replace the motherboard.

Or replace the BIOS chip.

Hey Reo, so I am in your program, when I type CD it just says C:\OUTPUT

Then when I type HPBR and hit enter it says "Bad command or file name"

Any idea on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks!

Morning HP,

We are also having an issue with a HP Bios Lock,

We recently purchased a HP EliteBook Workstation Laptop as a HP Remarketed Product and Found the Bios is Locked and we have tried various things to unlock but all have failed.

the Remarketed sticker states the following details

Seria:l [edited]

P/N: LG663EAR#UUZ

We need to have access to the bios so if you could give us a solution it would be greatly appriciated.

Many thanks

Karl
