laptop worked fine with W8.1, however after installing windows 10 screen goes blank with power adapter plugged in. Laptop boots OK but with blank screen, pulling out adapter lets image appear, no other problems. Battery charges OK but can't use while charging. This didn't happen with windows 8.1

Hi,

I had the same proble.

If you go to the power settings (right click on the battery icon), select the additional power settings and then edit the power plan you use.  The brightness slider is the wrong way around so if you have it selected for full brightness it is actually completely dark.  Move the slider to the other end and save the settings (nothing will happen until you save the settings).  The reason it is ok on battery is that the slider is set somewhere in the middle.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Ian

Hi @johnmkm ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 11-n012na x360 PC and issues with a blank screen with power adapter plugged in and not able to use the Notebook.

You could  try using the Windows Update Troubleshooting tool to fix any updates that have not come through for Windows 10. Please restart the Notebook twice after updates are done.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Thanks Ian,

Yes, the brightness slider for 'charger connected' has the 'sun' at the wrong end.  I did find this eventually but thanks for the info.

I have same problem but mine is not the brightness slider. When mine gets plugged in the screen goes blank. I have to hit the power button several times. I have talked to Hp support and they did the bios update. it did not correct problem
