HP envy 17t-n100
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
Trying to replace 2tbye 5400rpm C: drive with 1 tbyte SSD Drive. Cloned ok with EaseUS on USB.
SSD has same files as original C: drive and checks ok in drive test when placed in C: Hard Drive Location but error message says "Boot Device Not Found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk, Hard Disk (3F0)" Laptop has two drive slots with 2nd 2 tbyte drive in 2nd location (Recovery Drive). Any help in getting the SSD drive to be the boot drive would be appreciated.

If your PC came with Windows preinstalled, then you have to clone more than just the C: drive to get it booting, there are other partitions involved in the process.

I use Macrium Reflect to do such cloning because it copies ALL the partitions that are needed for Windows to be bootable automatically.

If your machine came with Win8 or newer, it probably uses UEFI and GPT -- and in those cases, I don't know what additional partitions you need to make the drive bootable.

Your best bet might be to check on the EASEUS forums (if they have them) to see how you can re-clone the original drive to get the needed partitions on the new drive.

Good Luck

Your advice was correct, Ease-US only cloned the C: partition and that's not enough.

Because of space limitations on the SSD drive Macrium Reflect was only able to clone the first three of the five partitions on the existing 5400 rpm drive.  However, that was suffient to make a bootable drive and the SSD seems to be working OK.

Thank you for your advice.
