Product Name: HP 250 G4
OS: (Windows 10 (Upgraded from Win 8.1)
Problem: WiFi not working (Broadcom BCM43142 Wi-Fi adaptor) after Windows 10 upgrade
Recently bought a HP205 G4 laptop and upgraded to Windows 10. Sonce yhe upgrade thwe system won't recognise/identify the Wi-Fi connection (Nopt Connected - No Connections are available). I then went to HP Support site (http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=7609954&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4192), selected the OS, and downloaded/installed the driver which was availble there (7.35.275.2 Rev.B 27 Jul 2015). But it didn't help at all.
Just want to know whether someone had similar experience and found a solution.
Thanks

Have you tried installing it in compatibility mode?
Right click the installer softpaq and choose the last operating system that it worked properly in. Follow the prompts after that.

I'm having the exact same problem with my : HP Pavilion - 15-p237nf (ENERGY STAR)
I have a Broadcom BCM43142 wi-fi card running with the Broadcom 802.11 bgn WLAN driver.
Since I've downloaded the new version of this driver for Windows 10, this one can't be installed because of errors "Update.cpp 1189" or "Update.cpp 1206".
Since this failed installation my wi-fi doesn't work anymore, I have to use an Ethernet cable to get internet.
I precise that I've already tried to install the new driver by HP Assistant, then by the site HP directly and manually from the site Broadcom.
So my problem is not how to download the new driver but why this one can't be installed, why the upgrade fail everytime.
Looking for help too 😞
Thanks

I have asked my internal HP contacts about this.
At the Windows 10 compatibility list, the broadcom adapter has not been marked as compatible or incompatible yet.
It sure looks like Broadcom needs to get busy.
YOU can upgrade your wifi adapter module to one that will work.Take a look in the maintenence & Service guide for your notebook to see which others are compatible. Put the candidate adapter identifying info into the compatibility web page to see if it is known compatible or not.

The compatibility mode does not work as well
I tried it in the first place and the task it self just gets lost.
What happens is
execute setup.exe
asks for admin authorization
Tries to setup
and then gone
I checked the task window and at one point the setup.exe just vanishes
pretty weird
however, thanks for your fast response
when I run the diagnosis it shows that the wifi is not turned on
and when I searched it, it happened on windows 7 and 8 as well
I guess the device just does not support 10 yet...
hope it is fixed soon

Hi All,
I was able to find a solution for my problem.
- Installed the latest Bios (F.11 Rev.A 29 Jul 2015) for my HP 250 G4
- Then installed the Broadcom 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver (7.35.275.2 Rev.B 27 Jul 2015)
Please note that this solution may only apply to rhis particular model (HP 250 G4).
Hope this helps
