I loved this computer and have had it since November, but for some reason today when I went to log on the keyboard was not working. The only button that works is the space button and when I click the letter M it works, but instead of typing a letter M it types an enter. So I got a USB keyboard and plugged it in, and the same keys worked on that one too. I would really like to know what is going on with my computer. Please reply.

I am assuming that the keyboard layout in the operating system might be causing the problem. Please change it to the right keyboard layout.

well, I can't login. Because my keyboard is messed up. So I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to do that.

I am having the same problem and its been ongoing for months it's driving me crazy. I can be in the middle of typing something and lots of the keys just stop working. They sometimes stop working before I log in and it makes it impossible to log in but if I leave it for a few days it then allows me. It's no good when I need it for university!

Try the following:

Shut down the notebook
unplug the AC Adapter
then remove the battery
Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter

Tap away at the esc key with USB keyboard as you start the notebook to see if this will launch the Start-up Menu
then select F10 to enter the bios menu
Press F5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes F9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key )
use the arrow keys ( assuming they work in this menu ) to select 'Yes' and hit enter
Press F10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.

Note: If you find the keys don't work in the Bios menu, then this is likely to be a Hardware issue.

thanks,
