I turned on my computer to do some school work and everything has been reset and all of my files are gone. What happened and how do I fix it?

Hi! Welcome to HP Forums.

I understand that your computer reset itself and you lost your files.

Was there any Windows upgrade going on or were any updates interrupted?

Sometimes a Virus too might cause problems. I suggest you run an Antivirus scan.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance.

Have a great day. 🙂
