Everytime I turn on the latest Coolsense software, my Event Viewer gives a warning about the processor speed being reduced:
eg The speed of processor 0 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware.
I use the pc on High Performance. Does this Coolsense software throttle the processor to help with cooling?

Hi Roninwy,
No worries, it is not a hassle, but my pleasure to help.
Yes the Cool Sense software can adjust the performance and fan speed to keep the notebook cool.
It can reduce the performance, to help keep the notebook cooler, hence the pop up message.

I understand that you would like to know if the Cool Sense software can affect the performance. Here is a link to HP CoolSense Technology, please note the first paragraph.

Thanks for this link.
I had looked at this already. Where it say's ... automatically adjusts the computer performance and fan speed to keep the computer cool ... do I understand this to mean that Coolsense will throttle processors under specified conditions to create these kind of reports that I get in the Event Viewer?
