Hi,
First thing which you may do is updating Relatek lan driver to latest version.
You need to uninstall old driver berfore you will do anything.
Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
How to uninstall or change a program in Vista
How to change or remove a program in Windows XP
Now download and install Relatek lan driver from here.
Reboot you system and check is this problem solved or not.
When above solution will not work then second thing which you may do is unchecking sleep mode in devices manager for it. To do this go to:
Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Devices Manager (if you are using Windows XP)
Control Panel -> Device Manager (if you are using Windows Vista or 7)
and double-click ' Network adapters ' to expand it . Double-click the ' Realtek Network Controller '. Select the ' Power Management ' tab and Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.
