Ed,
Be nice. I do care about whether you have control over a BIOS update. Smiling.
Welcome to the HP Forum!
The BIOS update might just be coming from your HP Support Assistant.
Set the HPSA to "Notify" instead of auto-updates and it should settle down.
By the way -- never update the BIOS when the HPSA tells you to do so. Set any BIOS update offers from the HPSA to Ignore. You only want to get your BIOS updates for YOUR computer from it's own webpage and only then if you think you need the update. You are right to not want this happening out from under you.
Start at HP Drivers & Downloads
Hope that does it.

I uninstall all the software from HP that came with the laptop, except the camera software and some essential drivers. I have to wait, hopefully that automatic bios update does not happen again. I think that the answer from you (HP) of GUESSING where the update come from is not very professional. You (HP) should know exactly where that automatic bios update is trigger . I fill like you are trying to full me.
Thank You any way.

Ed,
I would not try to fool you - I don't have a reason to do so.
HP no doubt knows the origins of all HP Updates.
To put that in clearer, but poorly constructed English: HP knows where their Updates come from.
I do not work for HP and sometimes, in the effort to assist, I make the mistake of using guess work when someone is only interested in true and specific answers. My supposition is that the BIOS update originated from the HPSA or from HP Updates. I could be wrong.
I hope your current setup and solution work to keep the system stable.
Thanks for using the HP Forum.

Although I strive to reflect HP's best practices, I do not work for HP.

Mr. Dragon-Fur,
I really apologize to you, I was thinking that you work for HP, Your avatar says HP expert and we are in a support forum that belongs to HP also. so please take my sincere apology again.
For the part that belongs to HP, I keep every word I wrote and more. this discussion has been open for several months and HP does not stand up and clarify the matter. It should be information about this on HP support site. this is an important issue. At this point I will not westing my time on this forum. It is a shame for HP do not have a concrete support for a so important matter as is an automatic Bios Update.
Thanks For your help.
