When I turn on my computer, the hard drive starts but then stops. The lights on the touchbar (next to the power button) come on, but the screen does not. Then, the caps lock and scroll lights flash 4 times in sequence. My warranty expired last year, what do I need to do to fix my problem?

Thank you for your help, both of you. I had already tried a hard reset, with no success. Upon the advice of a different forum, I removed and reinserted the memory sticks in the back of the computer. I think they must have come loose when it got dropped on accident. Upon doing this, I restarted the laptop and it now works just fine.

Try a hard reset:
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button

erico

If the hard reset suggested by Erico does not resolve the problem,
I think it is a hardware issue with graphics if the leds are blinking 4 times. Refer the following weblink:
