Hi,

It looks like there is an ultra low voltage CPU. It means the cpu is soldered to the motherboard and can't be replaced. The only option here is to replace the whole motherboard. However, I don't think this kind of upgrade will be worth it because the board with a Core i7 cpu won't give you much power for the money.

update i had an online chat with hp support and it is possible to upgrade to i7 , it would mean changing the mother board as well, the only down side for me is the only i7 compatible is a 2 core, i was hoping for a 4 core,

I think that there will be probably some quad core motherboard available after G2 and G3 will be released. However, I still wouldn't recommend to upgrade an ultra voltage cpu. The new board will be most likely more expensive than the laptop itself so there is no reason for the upgrade anyway.
