It doesn't matter if I put the computer in hibernation for a couple of minutes or overnight, I still get the same message. Compaq Presario CQ70-220EM Notebook Windows 7 Professional upgraded from Vista Basic Nov 2009. Never had a problem until now.
Boot into safe mode by pressing f8 as you power up. Delete hiberfil.sys. It is corrupt. Windows will replace it with a fresh one when you reboot and you should be able to hibernate.
