Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My notebook is a few years old and was recently upgraded (?) to Windows 10. Everything was fine until a few weeks ago. I now get a 'file system error (-805306367)' whenever I try to do things such as play an mp3 music file, or try to view a photo. Also, the icons at the bottom right on the taskbar (volume, notifications, battery etc..) no longer respond to a left-click. I can still use the notebook but would like to solve whatever is causing this problem. Any help appreciated.

Try this.

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions. When the scan is complete, the System File Checker tool indicates whether integrity violations were found. If integrity violations are found, the System File Checker tool lets you fix the integrity violations.

  1. Type Command Prompt on the Start Screen.
  2. Right click on Command Prompt to select "Run as Administrator".
  3. Type: sfc<space>/scannow.
