Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

i upgraded to windows 10 since then i can not access my external hard drive or my dvd drive it ask for password in bios and i havent used it in a very long time cant remember what it is need to erase the old one and enter a new one  it was reading it in device manager  but the dvd was not  i use this for entertainment and with no access to the dvd or external hard drive im dead in the water the external hard drive is a seagram 3 tb seperate power supply how do i rest the pass word i disconnectected the battery removed the rtc   removed the hard drive  and restarted without the battery . the error message came up bios recovered  put the battery back in   .

When talking to the HP rep ask to escalate your service request.

 

Or download these files.

Insert clean USB flash drive.

 

Then run USB Image tool.

 

Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.

 

After restore remove flash drive.

 

Insert flash drive into locked laptop and boot. ”If HDD is installed remove before booting.”

 

At C:\OUTPUT   type CD..   “Then hit enter”

 

Type HPBR   “Then hit enter”

 

First thing is to save your settings.

 

Select #3 re-program.

 

Press “S” to save system information.

 

Type HPBR and hit enter.

 

Select   “FIRST RUN”

 

Then select model.

 

After reboot repeat same as above but this time SELECT “SECOND RUN”

 

Some instructions here. “If you cannot boot from USB there are instructions to make a bootable HDD.”
