Have tried different restore dates and nothing works.  Do I need a new hard drive and how much would that be:  parts and labor?

I had problems starting up the laptop, did all the diagnosis, finally replaced the hard drive.  When I run the startup & bios tests, I am getting the HD Quick 303 error.  Can something else besides a faulty hard drive cause this error?  HP Pavillion G6  With the new hard drive at least the computer starts up properly and functions.  I only ran the tests  as a check since its new and when it started up there were beeps as if a key was stuck down.

I came across your post and wanted to assist you, I'll try my best to help you with this,

As I see that you are getting a 303 error which indicates that the hard drive is gone bad and it needs a replacement.

You could follow these links for more details,

Will I loose everything on my computer? Photos and all?? Answering to your question, If you are able to boot the PC  to the desktop then you can go ahead and backup your data, If you are unable to boot to the desktop, and if the hard drive is not accessible then yes, there are chances that the data is lost. However, there are 3rd party software which you can check by taking it to a local store who can try to get the data backed up for a nominal charge.

I hope this answers your question, let me know if you need any further assistance.
