Here is a url that goes to a document that explains how to order recovery media.
The recovery media is quite inexpensive (less than $30.00).
Recovery media contains your copy of the originally installed Microsoft Windows operating system, drivers and bundled software.
That is far less expensive than the option you have of purchasing a complete operating system from Microsoft.
Of course there is always the option of installing a free version of Linux.

I Have a Pavilion G6 and dropped it so lost all , i went a purchased a new HD and install it was a simply plug in job BUT now the hard work starts.
when i turn it on all i got was no bootable device so following this thread i went ahead and purchased the recovery set of 3 CD cost £30.40.
Now when i load the CD it all starts to install ok BUT then i get __ NO HDD.... so what can i do now please help..
I am now using my Desktop to send this message as i have no access to the laptop till this is fixed....
