Options

Brand new laptop, the web cam does not work. When starting ArcSoft totalMedia Suite, I get a message that says

"Camera not found. The camera is either being used by another application or is not connected. Make sure the camera is connected and working properly, then try again."

I went into device manager and the web cam is in the list and says to be working properly, though in parenthesis, it says (fixed)

Any one else experience this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey mizanur010,

Welcome and thanks for posting your question! Since Device Manager has it listed, it is more likely a software issue rather than loose connection/disconnected camera.

I would suggest checking your BIOS version. Press FN + ESC to bring up a window that gives your current version (F.##). Let me know what that version is and what Windows version you have (32 or 64 bit?    Home Premium, Professional?      XP, Vista, 7 or 8?) Once I know this information, I can link you to the latest BIOS version.

Hey puisiits,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your webcam. Is it not being detected at all or is it poor quality or something else?

Which notebook do you have? Press FN + ESC to find your product number/model name. Once I know what product number you have, I can see if your BIOS is up-to-date or not.

Looking forward to your reply 🙂
